This book reflects a two year joint work of a European Consortium from industry and academia concerned with the introduction of stochastic techniques for the analysis of physical systems in several random variables and their application in engineering.
The text collects edited contributions by project partners, organized in three main parts: Theoretical Background, Software Implementation and Industrial Engineering Applications.
The MATLAB environment has been a suitable basis for the development of the programme and interfaces exist with software tools for Monte Carlo simulation and model improvement.
