Evolutionary and deterministic methods for design, optimization and control. Applications to industrial and societal problems

This book contains selected papers presented at the Conference on Evolutionary and Deterministic Methods for Design, Optimization and Control with Applications to Industrial and Societal Problems (EUROGEN 2007) held in Jyväskylä, 11-13 June 2007.

The aim of Eurogen 2007 was to bring together specialists form universities, research institutions and industries who are developing or applying evolutionary and other methods of optimization with an emphasis on industrial and societal applications.

The contents of these Eurogen’07 proceedings focus on the technologies currently involved in the field of multidisciplinary design and control, aimed at solving new challenges of computational science. Practical design engineers and researchers benefited also from the conference presentations on existing or recently developed software tools that are rapidly becoming available to industry.
